Ramadan 2025-Muqabalah

Salman al-Farsi (radhiyallāhu anhu) narrated that Rasūlullāh (sallallāhu alayhi wa sallam) addressed us on the last day of Sha’ban and said:

“O people! A great and blessed month has cast its shadow upon you. It is a month containing a night better than a thousand months (the Night of Qadr). Allah has made fasting during this month obligatory upon you, and I have established the night prayer (i.e., praying Tarawih and other acts of worship at night) as a confirmed sunnah for you.

Whoever approaches (Allah) with a good deed during this month is like one who fulfils a fardh (obligatory duty) in other months. Whoever performs a fardh in this month is like one who performs seventy farāidh (obligations) in other months.

It is the month of patience, and the reward for patience is Jannah. It is the month of mutual support, and in it, the provisions for the believers are increased. Whoever provides a fasting person with iftar will have his sins forgiven, his neck saved from the Fire, and will earn the same reward as the fasting person without diminishing the fasting person’s reward…”

There are many manners to be observed during the blessed month of Ramadan al-Sharif, some of which are listed below:

Preparing for the sacred month of Ramadan from the month of Sha’ban al-Sharif, repenting, abandoning sins, reconciling with adversaries, and settling any due rights others may have.

Freeing oneself from conditions that prevent good deeds, turning towards charitable acts, and purifying intentions in this regard.

Cleansing one’s speech from lies, slander, and gossip, just as one cleanses clothes from stains.

Not neglecting fardh acts of worship and increasing nāfilah (voluntary) acts such as tasbih (saying ‘Subhanallah’), tahleel (saying ‘Lā ilāha illallāh’) and sending salawāt on Rasūlullāh (sallallāhu alayhi wa sallam).

Assisting orphans and the destitute. Breaking the fast with halal and pure food, free from any doubtful food.

Being mindful at the time of iftar, which is a time when du‘ās are accepted. Sharing one’s table with the poor.

Being kind to on one’s family and maintaining good relations with them.

Striving to do good to others as much as one can.
