About this departure

One week, arranged so you can spend it worshipping

This Toronto departure is scheduled across U.S. Thanksgiving week, with a Saturday evening departure and a Sunday afternoon return.

You leave Toronto Pearson on Saturday, November 21 and land back in Toronto on Sunday, November 29. Both international flights are non-stop on Saudia, so there is no airport connection or second boarding in either direction.

The route is Madinah first. After arriving in Jeddah on Sunday afternoon, the group completes immigration and continues to Madinah by private coach. You spend three nights there before travelling to Makkah al-Mukarramah for four nights. Starting in Madinah gives you time to rest before entering ihram — which matters if you are travelling with young children or older parents, and if this is your first Umrah.

Both hotels are within walking distance of the Haramain, so no daily shuttle is needed and you can return to your room between prayers rather than committing to long stretches away. Breakfast and dinner are served daily as open buffets at both hotels. Imam Selman Faruk Ozat travels with the group from YYZ to YYZ, leading each Umrah, explaining the Ziyarah sites, and answering the questions first-time pilgrims are often reluctant to ask.

Everything — flights, Saudi visa support, hotels, meals, transfers, guided Ziyarah and religious guidance — is arranged in one package. The point is not convenience for its own sake. It is that you spend the week worshipping rather than solving logistics in an unfamiliar country.

Why this departure

Six reasons travellers choose this week

Timing

U.S. Thanksgiving week

Departing Saturday, November 21 and returning Sunday, November 29 places the journey across the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday week, with a full Sunday afternoon at home after landing.

Route

Madinah first

You continue from Jeddah to Madinah after arrival and spend three nights there before entering ihram for Makkah. This gives the group time to settle, rest and prepare before the first Umrah.

Location

Hotels you can walk from

Address Hotel Jabal Omar sits roughly five minutes’ walk from Masjid al-Haram, and Valy Hotel is about 200 metres from Al-Masjid an-Nabawi. No daily shuttle, and a room you can return to between prayers.

Flights

Non-stop in both directions

Saudia flies the group directly from Toronto to Jeddah and directly back to Toronto on the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner — no flight connection in either direction.

Worship

Three guided Umrahs

Three group Umrahs are scheduled, each led by the imam from ihram through tawaf and sa’i. Participation in the second and third is optional.

Departure city

A Toronto group departure

The group checks in together at Toronto Pearson, travels with its imam and Hisar Tour support, and returns together to YYZ at the end of the journey.

Outbound

Saudia flight SV 62 departs Toronto Pearson at 6:00 PM on Saturday, November 21 and arrives in Jeddah at 1:45 PM on Sunday, November 22. After immigration and baggage collection, the group continues to Madinah by private coach with Hisar Tour staff.

Return and baggage

Saudia flight SV 61 departs Jeddah at 8:50 AM on Sunday, November 29 and lands in Toronto at 2:25 PM the same day. Two checked bags per passenger, 23 kg each, plus cabin baggage as permitted by Saudia.

Flight numbers and times are as currently scheduled by Saudia and may change. Your final itinerary is issued with your travel documents.

Where you stay

Both hotels within walking distance of the Haram

Al-Masjid an-Nabawi in Madinah, a short walk from Valy Hotel
Al-Masjid an-Nabawi — a 3–5 minute walk from Valy Hotel
3nights

Madinah al-Munawwarah

Valy Hotel — 4-star

Madinah rewards unhurried time in the Prophet’s Mosque more than a full sightseeing list, which is why this itinerary leaves most afternoons and evenings free. A hotel you can walk back from makes that possible.

To Al-Masjid an-Nabawi: approximately 200 metres, a 3–5 minute walk
Meals: daily open-buffet breakfast and dinner

Address Hotel Jabal Omar exterior, approximately a five-minute walk from Masjid al-Haram in Makkah
Address Hotel Jabal Omar — Jabal Omar district, Makkah
4nights

Makkah al-Mukarramah

Address Hotel Jabal Omar — 5-star

The short walk is the point. In Makkah you will want to pray at the Haram five times a day, and the difference between a five-minute walk and a shuttle ride is the difference between going back for every prayer and going twice.

To Masjid al-Haram: approximately a five-minute walk
Meals: daily open-buffet breakfast and dinner

Hotels are shown as named or a comparable alternative. Where a substitution becomes necessary, Hisar Tour arranges accommodation of equivalent standard and location, under the terms of your booking.

Day by day

Madinah first, then Makkah, then home to Toronto

Departure

Saturday, November 21

Sat, Nov 21

Departure from Toronto

SV 62  ·  YYZ 6:00 PM  →  JED 1:45 PM (Sun)

Meet the Hisar Tour team at Toronto Pearson for group check-in. Your group leader coordinates baggage, boarding and final travel instructions before the non-stop overnight flight to Jeddah.

Madinah al-Munawwarah

3 nights · Valy Hotel

Day 1 · Sun, Nov 22

Arrival and transfer to Madinah

SV 62  ·  JED arrival 1:45 PM

Arrive in Jeddah, complete immigration and baggage collection, then continue to Madinah by private coach. After hotel check-in, the priority is rest and settling in. The group leader will confirm the first visit to Al-Masjid an-Nabawi according to the actual arrival and check-in time.

Rawdah entry requires a Nusuk permit with an assigned time slot. Your group leader assists with the application; access and timing are determined by the Saudi authorities.

Day 2 · Mon, Nov 23

Madinah Ziyarah

Morning guided Ziyarah by private coach to Mount Uhud and the resting place of the martyrs, Masjid al-Qiblatayn and Masjid Quba. Your imam narrates each site through Bluetooth headsets, so you hear clearly without crowding around a guide. The afternoon and evening are left open for worship at Al-Masjid an-Nabawi.

Day 3 · Tue, Nov 24

Baqi, date gardens and personal worship

After Fajr, the men of the group may visit Jannat al-Baqi with the imam, subject to access rules. Later the group visits a Madinah date garden. The remainder of the day is free for prayer, rest and preparation for ihram. This is your final night in Madinah.

Makkah al-Mukarramah

4 nights · Address Hotel Jabal Omar

Day 4 · Wed, Nov 25

Transfer to Makkah and first Umrah

Check out and travel to Makkah by private coach. The group enters ihram at the miqat en route, and your imam leads the talbiyah and explains every step before arrival. After check-in, the group walks to Masjid al-Haram to perform the first Umrah together, with guidance through tawaf, sa’i and the closing of ihram.

Performing your first Umrah as a guided group, rather than alone in an unfamiliar mosque, is what many first-time pilgrims tell us mattered most.

Day 5 · Thu, Nov 26 · Thanksgiving

Haram orientation and second Umrah

A lighter day after the transfer and first Umrah. Your imam provides an orientation on the history, layout and etiquette of Masjid al-Haram. Later, the group travels to Masjid al-Tan’eem to enter ihram and returns to perform the second Umrah. Participation is optional.

U.S. Thanksgiving falls on this day. The programme remains focused on worship, with enough flexibility for families to rest between activities.

Day 6 · Fri, Nov 27

Jumu’ah at Masjid al-Haram

No major group activity is scheduled before Jumu’ah. Your group leader will advise when to leave the hotel to find a place, which on a Friday means considerably earlier than usual. The rest of the day is for personal worship and rest.

Day 7 · Sat, Nov 28

Makkah Ziyarah and third Umrah

Morning guided Ziyarah by coach to the Mashaer — Arafat, Mina and Muzdalifah — with Jabal al-Nour and Jabal Thawr viewed en route. The group then continues to Ju’ranah to enter ihram and returns to perform the third Umrah. Participation is optional.

The evening is kept light so travellers can complete final worship, organize luggage and rest before the early airport transfer.

Because the return flight departs Jeddah at 8:50 AM, the group leaves the Makkah hotel very early on Sunday morning. The confirmed meeting and checkout time will be issued with the final travel documents.

Return

Sunday, November 29

Day 8 · Sun, Nov 29

Return to Toronto

SV 61  ·  JED 8:50 AM  →  YYZ 2:25 PM  ·  Non-stop

Check out in the early morning and transfer by private coach to Jeddah airport. The non-stop flight lands at Toronto Pearson at 2:25 PM on Sunday afternoon.

The order and timing of activities may be adjusted because of flight operations, local regulations, prayer schedules, permit availability, traffic, weather or group needs. Ziyarah routes are subject to the access rules in force at the time of travel.

Guidance

You will not be expected to know what you are doing

Who travels with you

Imam Selman Faruk Ozat accompanies the group from YYZ to YYZ — not a local guide who meets you on arrival. He leads each group Umrah, explains the Ziyarah sites, and is available for questions throughout the week.

Before you travel

All registered pilgrims are invited to a pre-Umrah webinar covering the rites of Umrah, what to pack, ihram, Saudi entry procedures, and what daily life on the trip actually looks like.

Bluetooth headsets

Every pilgrim receives a headset for group Ziyarah and rituals, so you can hear your imam clearly in crowded areas without pressing in around him. With a group of this size, this is what keeps guided activities calm rather than chaotic.

Best suited to

Is this the right departure for you?

A good fit if you are:

  • Travelling during U.S. Thanksgiving week and want a complete group programme
  • Performing Umrah for the first time and want structured guidance
  • Taking elderly parents and want hotels within walking distance of both Harams
  • Travelling from Toronto, the GTA, Ontario or nearby U.S. cities and want a group departure from YYZ
  • Looking for flights, visa, hotels, meals and transport arranged in one package

Two things to weigh honestly:

This is a group departure, not a private tour. Ziyarah runs on a group schedule and transfers move together. In exchange you get a dedicated imam, private coaches and support on the ground.

The final morning begins very early. The return flight leaves Jeddah at 8:50 AM, so the group checks out of the Makkah hotel before dawn and transfers together to the airport.

If a traveller uses a wheelchair or has limited mobility, please speak with a Hisar Tour advisor before booking so we can review what is realistic on this itinerary and arrange support where possible.

Questions

About this departure

What are the flight details, and are the flights non-stop?

Yes. The group departs Toronto Pearson on Saudia flight SV 62 at 6:00 PM on Saturday, November 21 and arrives in Jeddah at 1:45 PM on Sunday, November 22. The return is also non-stop: SV 61 departs Jeddah at 8:50 AM on Sunday, November 29 and lands in Toronto at 2:25 PM. Both flights are scheduled on the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

Which city do we visit first, and how many nights are in each city?

Madinah first. Three nights in Madinah al-Munawwarah from November 22 through November 24 at Valy Hotel, followed by four nights in Makkah al-Mukarramah from November 25 through November 28 at Address Hotel Jabal Omar.

How do we travel from Jeddah airport to Madinah?

After immigration and baggage collection in Jeddah, the group continues to Madinah by private coach with Hisar Tour staff. This ground transfer is included in the package.

How far are the hotels from the Haram?

Valy Hotel in Madinah is approximately 200 metres from Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, a three to five minute walk. Address Hotel Jabal Omar in Makkah is approximately a five-minute walk from Masjid al-Haram. No daily shuttle is required at either hotel. Hotels are shown as named or a comparable alternative; where a substitution becomes necessary we arrange accommodation of equivalent standard and location.

Is the Saudi visa included, and what if my passport is not eligible?

The Saudi tourist visa is included for U.S. passport holders and other eligible nationalities, together with the health insurance attached to it. If your passport is not eligible, an Umrah visa is required at an additional $250 per person. Tell us your passport nationality before booking and we will confirm which applies. Visa type, validity and approval are determined by the Saudi authorities.

How many Umrahs will we perform?

Three guided group Umrahs are scheduled: the first after arrival in Makkah on November 25, the second from Masjid al-Tan’eem on November 26, and the third from Ju’ranah after the Makkah Ziyarah on November 28. Participation in the second and third is optional.

Are breakfast and dinner included?

Yes. Daily open-buffet breakfast and daily open-buffet dinner are included at both hotels for all seven nights. Lunch, room service and meals outside the hotel are not included. Please tell your Hisar Tour advisor about dietary or medical requirements before departure so we can raise them with the hotels in advance.

Who guides the group?

Imam Selman Faruk Ozat accompanies the group from YYZ to YYZ — not a local guide who meets you on arrival. He leads each group Umrah, explains the Ziyarah sites and is available for questions throughout the week. Every pilgrim receives a Bluetooth headset so guidance is clear during group activities.

How many people share a triple or quad room, and what does the starting price mean?

$2,950 is per person based on quad occupancy — four travellers sharing, families only. Triple is $3,050 per person (families only), double $3,250, and single occupancy $3,900. Children aged 2–8 sharing without a separate bed are $2,399 and infants under 2 are $499; both require an accompanying adult in the room. All prices include round-trip Saudia airfare from Toronto.

What deposit is required, and when is the balance due?

A non-refundable deposit of $1,000 per person secures your place. The balance is due by October 7, 2026, 45 days before departure. Credit card payments carry a 3% processing fee; Zelle, bank transfer and check carry none. Two checked bags of 23 kg each are included in the fare.

What happens on the final morning with the 8:50 AM flight?

The group checks out of the Makkah hotel very early on Sunday, November 29 and transfers by private coach to Jeddah airport. The exact hotel meeting time will be confirmed in the final travel documents. Pack your cabin bag and organize your luggage the night before so the departure remains calm and on schedule.

Is this departure suitable for elderly parents or young children?

In many respects, yes. Both international flights are non-stop and both hotels are within walking distance of the Haramain. Travellers should still be prepared for the road transfer from Jeddah to Madinah after arrival, the Madinah-to-Makkah transfer, and the very early departure from Makkah on the final morning. If a traveller uses a wheelchair or has limited mobility, speak with a Hisar Tour advisor before booking.

Is Rawdah access guaranteed?

No. Entry to the Rawdah requires a permit issued through the Nusuk platform with an assigned date and time slot. Your group leader will help you apply and will explain the process during the pre-Umrah webinar, but permits, timing and access are controlled entirely by the Saudi authorities. Any operator who guarantees Rawdah entry is not being straight with you.

Can the itinerary change, and what happens after I book?

The order and timing of activities may be adjusted because of flight operations, local regulations, prayer schedules, permit availability, traffic, weather or group needs. Submitting a registration form does not confirm your place — your seat is held once the deposit is received and accepted, after which you receive written confirmation, a document checklist and your payment schedule. All bookings are subject to the HISAR USA INC Terms and Conditions.
